'The Portal Inventory' is an encrypted manuscript that was found amongst the remains of a burnt-out house in the barely populated hilltop hamlet of Tup's Fold. The manuscript itself has been partially destroyed by fire and extensive water damage and only seventy five of the estimated three hundred pages remain. Each page is written in a different hand and in a different code. The hieroglyphs are exclusive to that page only and are not repeated elsewhere. This makes translation extremely difficult and, in some instances, impossible. Reigns operatives are currently in the process of decoding the text and we have printed their transcripts on the linked pages. We will continue to do so as and when the excerpts become available. So far, we have ascertained that the manuscript appears to be a guide to the burnt out house, itemising wormholes in time and space within its walls and grounds. Carbon dating has so far proved inconclusive and the probability that it is all a hoax seems remarkably high. However, linguists have assured us that all of the remaining pages are written in languages that appear through the occurrence and placement of vowel and consonant characters, to be workable. Handwriting experts also inform us that the seventy five available pages are the work of seventy five different individuals. If the manuscript is indeed fraudulent it must surely rank alongside the Turin Shroud and the Hitler Diaries as one of the most audacious and most pointless hoaxes in human history. |
